Lansing Catholic High School

Letter from Principal

Thank you for considering Lansing Catholic High School, where we con-tinue the tradition of more than 100 years of Catholic high school educa-tion in mid-Michigan. As a co-educational school with 540 students, we are large enough to offer a great variety of classes, activities and athlet-ics, yet small enough where everyone knows each other.

Our students come to Lansing Catholic from more than 20 different elementary schools, and they leave well prepared to become the best they can be in college and beyond.

It is our mission to form each student spiritually, intellectually and  socially into faithful disciples of Jesus Christ who will go out to transform the world. Our cross logo on each uniform shirt is worn closely to each student’s heart, serving as a constant reminder of Jesus, and how faith is incorporated into everything we do as part of the Lansing Catholic community.

With 99 percent of our students continuing their education after graduation, and 98 percent of our graduates being accepted at the college or university of their choice, an investment in Lansing Catholic will pay dividends across all aspects of your child’s life.

If you are looking for a place where your son or daughter will be uplifted in spirit, mind and body by parents, teachers and staff who truly want your child to succeed academically and grow spiritually, look to Lansing Catholic High School.

Our Mission

The Lansing Catholic High School community forms students spiritually, intellectually and socially into faithful  disciples of Jesus Christ.

Academics

At Lansing Catholic, our teachers and parents are committed to preparing our students for successful academic careers in college and beyond. Accredited by the Michigan Association of Non-Public Schools, we offer a rigorous curriculum taught by highly qualified teachers, many of whom hold advanced degrees.

Students are required to successfully complete 24 credits in the following areas: theology, English, fine and applied arts, mathematics, social studies, science, world language and electives. To help students at all levels to succeed, we also have a student resource coordinator with a special education degree who works with students who have service plans. Furthermore, we offer honors and Advanced Placement courses and dual enrollment through Michigan State University and Lansing Community College for junior and senior students who have completed all graduation requirements.

Faith

At Lansing Catholic High School, our campus ministry, service requirements, retreats, mission trips and focus on vocations promote a life centered on faith, discipleship and ministry. We offer a variety of traditional and contemporary ways for students to deepen their personal relationship with Jesus, while discovering how the Spirit is leading them to serve God and others. These include daily Mass, reconciliation, eucharistic adoration, spring break and summer mission trips, retreats offering more space and time for spiritual growth, and opportunities to learn more about discernment and vocations. Students must complete and log at least 80 hours of service prior to graduation and are required to attend a grade-level retreat each year. We also have opened our new St. John Paul the Great Chapel, which will inspire our community for generations to come.

Enrichment

Because we approach our students as whole people who are learning to be disciples of Christ in all areas of their lives, we offer a rich and varied menu of clubs, organizations and athletic activities. Our students work hard and play hard, and in doing so develop friendships, serve the community, and learn about teamwork and personal responsibility. From drama and music to Quiz Bowl to National Honor Society, yearbook, robotics and Wii Sports Club, we offer opportunities for every interest.

Lansing Catholic High School offers a very successful athletic program for boys and girls, including competitive teams in cross country, soccer, tennis, football, golf, swimming, cheer, volleyball, basketball, bowling, hockey, wrestling, baseball, lacrosse, track and softball. Our sports teams compete at the highest levels, with many of our teams reaching regional and state finals. In recent years, we have won state championships in tennis, golf, basketball, cross country and track and field.
